COLUMBIA -- Garrett Chisolm is big, even if he isn't big on attention. The 6-6, 290-pound South Carolina walk-on lineman has worked his way into the Gamecocks' starting lineup. Chisolm has twice shied away from interview requests, making him the team's mystery man. The West Ashley product will start at left guard Saturday at Arkansas. He played right guard for an extended period this past week at Tennessee. Coach Steve Spurrier is certainly high on Chisolm. After spending time at a small college in Kentucky and a community college in Charleston, Chisolm wound up on USC's campus. He came out for the team this summer, and walk-on coordinator Jamie Speronis gave him a spot on the scout team. Chisolm didn't even start practicing with the team until the middle of August. He quickly made a name for himself. "I remember one day coach Lorenzo Ward said, 'That new kid over there has knocked our guys on their butts,' " Spurrier recalled.
