Gallery owner provides outlet for artists

Birth: 1956 in Charleston.
Occupation: Artist, owner of Corrigan Gallery and outgoing president of the Charleston Fine Art Dealers' Association.
Education: Ashley Hall High School; Loyola College (now University) with a B.A. in French, 1974; University of Bordeaux III, graduate French language studies, 1986.
Family: Brother, sister, two nephews, brother-in-law, father and friends who really are as close as family.
Pets: Temporarily out, usually cat and fish.
Guests at my fantasy dinner: St. Augustine, Kant, Galileo, Madame Currie and Kandinsky.
Something that people are surprised to find out about me: I have a certificate in oenology from Bordeaux.
Favorite local dish at a local restaurant: Too many! But sushi at Osaka, burger at High Cotton and squid at Muse.
Inspirations for becoming an artist: My father, seeing the Pieta at the World's Fair in 1964, and the Homer and Degas prints on the walls at home.
Advice to a young artist: Corrie McCallum told me, "Don't let anyone get in your way.
