You hate to waste food, right? Here are four ingredients you may not have thought to store in the freezer, from Victoria Shearer's "Quick, Cheap Comfort Food" (Sellers, 2009):
--Marshmallows (for months).
--Crumbled blue cheese (for months).
--Fresh mushrooms (clean, slice and freeze in a single layer on a parchment-paper-lined baking sheet, then store in freezer-safe resealable plastic food storage bags, for up to three months).
--Buttermilk (freeze in 1-cup portions up to two months; defrost in the refrigerator and shake well before using. The texture may be affected, but not the outcome of the recipe).
